Summary
BudgetJar is a personal finance app that stores your transactions privately on your device. We do not sell your data. We use a small amount of anonymous analytics to understand which features are useful, and we process in-app purchases through the App Store and Google Play.
What we store on your device
All of your financial data stays on your device. That includes:
- Transactions (title, amount, category, date, payment method)
- Categories and their colors, icons, and monthly budgets
- Payment modes
- Recurring templates
- Your chosen currency and monthly budget amount
- Onboarding and Pro membership flags
Uninstalling the app permanently removes this data from your device.
What we collect off-device
We use Firebase Analytics to log anonymous events such as transaction added, category created, paywall presented, or purchase completed. These events do not include your transaction details, amounts, or any personally identifying information. We use them only to understand which flows help people and which need work.
Purchases
Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive a confirmation that an entitlement is active through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We do not receive your payment details.
Advertising
Free users on iOS may see occasional Google AdMob interstitial ads after saving a transaction or category. Pro users see zero ads. On iOS, BudgetJar presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking occurs. You can always decline.
Permissions
BudgetJar does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or photos. We do not read SMS messages or bank accounts. Everything you see in the app, you entered.
Children
BudgetJar is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require an account.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be announced in-app.
